Westward Gold (CSE:WG) provided an update on its 2024 exploration activities at its Toiyabe Hills land package in Nevada.

In a news release, the Vancouver-based company stated the goal of its programs is to define new high-priority targets along the property. Additionally, a rock-chip sampling program is ongoing where 143 samples have been submitted for assays.

The company began collecting soil samples in July across a grid designed to fill in data on previously unsampled ground, including the recently acquired East Saddle Extension Claims.

“Having completed structural transects across this large, consolidated land package, the district-scale opportunities now available to the company become readily apparent,” Kelly Cluer, strategic advisor to Westward Gold, said in a statement.

To date, roughly 1:5000 Anaconda-style geological mapping has covered roughly nine square kilometres, while the current program has moved east and south with the goal of covering the entire land portion.

Westward Gold has so far identified three large alteration zones in upper and lower plate rocks that indicate geological characteristics consistent with Carlin-type gold deposits in the region.

Once Westward Gold has completed the programs, its technical team will use the data to rank drill targets using a proprietary scoring system.

Westward Gold is a mineral exploration company focused on developing the Toiyabe Hills Project in the Cortez Hills area of Lander County, Nevada, and the Coyote and Rossi Projects along the Carlin Trend in Elko County, Nevada.

Shares of Westward Gold (CSE:WG) are unchanged at C$0.07.
