FireFox Gold (TSXV:FFOX) has revealed results from its summer exploration program in anticipation of its upcoming fall program at two of its 100-per-cent-owned projects in Finland.
In a news release, the company stated it conducted work at the Mustajarvi and Jeesiö projects.
At the Mustajarvi project, FireFox is focused on expanding the footprint of gold mineralization beyond the three already identified zones.
The project has notably returned numerous strongly mineralized intervals from drilling, including 13.85 metres at 28.74 grams per ton (g/t) gold from 24 metres down hole and 15.5 metres at 13.09 g/t gold from 11m down hole.
The first trench from Mustajarvi East in summer 2023 included results of 6.87 metres of 59.12 g/t gold.
“There are two noteworthy things about this program. First, we keep growing the footprint of the gold system at Mustajärvi, and again, the new prospect exhibits strong grade at surface,” Carl Lofberg, CEO of FireFox Gold, said in a statement. “Secondly, we are seeing the benefits of repeated application of our orogenic gold toolkit: detailed magnetics, iterative structural interpretation, reconnaissance mapping follow-up in exposed areas, and base-of-till sampling in covered settings.”
FireFox is now planning a down-hole geophysical survey to help vector towards continuation of the sulphide minerals associated with the gold mineralization and expects this feature to evolve into a drill-ready target by later in the year.
Meanwhile, over at the Jeesio project, the company will be adding detailed ground magnetics in areas that have seen encouraging rock sampling.
Over the summer, FireFox Gold completed work at the main Jeesiö targets, including the Utsamo and Kataja Belt areas. From south to north, the Kataja Belt consists of three gold prospects: Saittavaara, Katajavaara South (KJ South) and Katajavaara Hill (KJ Hill).
An extensive ground magnetics survey was completed over 16.15 square kilometres including the Kataja Belt and adjacent areas.
Looking into the fall 2024, program the company will conduct additional trench sampling at the Katajavaara prospect to follow-up on high gold grab sample of 33.6 g/t previously reported in 2023.
FireFox Gold is exploring for economic gold mineralization in Finland. Its projects include Jeesiö Gold Project, Mustajarvi Gold Project, Northern Group Gold Properties, Ylojarvi Gold Project and Riikonkoski Gold Project.
Shares of FireFox Gold Corp. (TSXV:FFOX) are unchanged at C$0.04.
