Liberty Defense (TSXV:SCAN) announced that its HEXWAVE screener was selected by a courthouse in Nevada to screen all visitors.

The Vancouver-based tech company stated that HEXWAVE will be implemented by the end of the year at the screening entrances to improve contraband and threat detection capabilities while increasing search capacity and consistency for anyone entering the facility.

HEXWAVE employs millimetre-wave technology, sophisticated 3D imaging, and AI to detect concealed weapons – metallic and non-metallic – along with other prohibited items. This technology enables rapid and automated screening via a high-capacity, hands-free, walk-through portal. Beyond aviation, HEXWAVE is also utilized in various high-security environments, such as judicial buildings, national laboratories, correctional facilities and government installations.

“This award comes on the heels of other major contracts with correctional facilities and confirms the demand for a more comprehensive screening approach for threats and contraband at checkpoints,” the company’s CEO, Bill Frain, said in a news release. “The ability of HEXWAVE to safely and effectively screen visitors for non-metallic and metallic threats was a key decision for the award along with the small footprint and best value versus current offerings. We continue to see more demand for enhanced threat detection in multiple market verticals like corrections, aviation worker screening, and government facilities, among others.”

Liberty Defense Holdings provides multi-technology security solutions for concealed weapon detection in areas such as airports, stadiums, schools and more. The team has noted a growing adoption of HEXWAVE across numerous security-sensitive sectors, such as courthouses, national laboratories, prisons, government facilities and aviation entry points.

Shares of Liberty Defense Holdings Ltd. (TSXV:SCAN) last traded at C$0.10. While down 25.93 per cent since the beginning of the year, its stock has risen 25.00 per cent this week.
