A few newcomers have made their first appearance on Buzz on the Bullboards to kick off 2018.

One thing remains the same from 2017 – investors are talking about cannabis. Aurora Cannabis Inc. (TSX: ACB, OTCQB: ACBFF, Forum) tops the list again. In fact, Aurora has been in the top 4 since November as its takeover of CanniMed Therapeutics Inc. (TSX: CMED, OTCQB: CMMDF, Forum) continues to grab headlines.

Not far behind is a new name to the Buzz, Blvd Centers Corp(TSX: V.CXV, Forum). It is a leading company in the United States addiction recovery industry.

B.C.-based agricultural services company New Age Farm (CSE:NF, Forum) is another newcomer to the Top 10. The company generated discussion over the holiday break when it announced it gained 10 million stock options exercisable into Common shares of the Company at a price of $0.29 per Common share. This followed news only a few days earlier that NF granted 3.9 million stock options. Despite a nearly 20% drop on Wednesday, the company is seeing more robust growth now than it has over the last three months.

In the middle of the Top 10 are firms in the cannabis industry popular with Bullboard users: Canopy Growth Corp. (TSX: WEED, OTCQB: TWMJF, Forum), Aphria Inc. (TSX: APH, OTCQB: APHQF, Forum), Friday Night Inc. (CSE: TGIF, OTCQB: ISOLF, Forum) , and Lifestyle Delivery Systems Inc. (CSE: LDS, OTCQB: LDSYF, Forum).

Another new company making its debut on the list is Belgravia Capital International Inc. (C.BLGV, Forum). BLGV specializes in organic fertilizers and resource assets and made news Wednesday when it announced a plan to launch a blockchain-based medicinal cannabis quality authentication public database. The intent with this databaseis so that consumers and distributors can search the publically-validated blockchain database for relevant characteristics and to a product they’re interested in, such as proof of cannabinoid, terpenoid and flavonoid content, as well as proof of strain heritage including source of genotype and phenotype.

Last, but certainly not least, are two popular firms with the Bullboards: Namaste Technologies (CSE: N, OTCQB: NXTTF, Forum) and Cuba Ventures Corp. (TSX: V.CUV, OTCBB: MPSFF, Forum) .

There is also a snapshot of many of these companies topping Stockhouse’s trending news page.

FULL DISCLOSURE: CanniMed Therapeutics Inc. and Friday Night Inc. are paid clients of Stockhouse Publishing.
