Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Thursday, June 14, 2012
TORONTO (SHfn) – Amerix Precious Metals (TSX: V.APM, Stock Forum) shares powered 78% higher to 16 cents on volume of more than 5.2 million shares Thursday after the micro cap explorer reported that in its initial two drill holes it has intercepted a zone of gold mineralization at its 100% owned Limão Gold Property in Brazil, which included 12.67 metres grading 14.04 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.
As well, shares of Lorus Therapeutics (TSX: T.LOR, Stock Forum) shot up 28% to 57 cents as the biopharmaceutical company announced the addition of MD Anderson Cancer Center as a second site in the ongoing Lorus Phase I clinical trial with its anticancer drug LOR-253.
Miraculins (TSX: V.MOM, Stock Forum), meanwhile, said it has been issued a patent by the State Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China that covers use of a tape stripping device for skin sampling for cholesterol testing. Miraculins stock popped as much as 14% to 12 cents.
And, shares of Aldridge Minerals (TSX: V.AGM, Stock Forum) continued to move higher Thursday, rising 22% to 66 cents. On Wednesday, the miner cap miner saw its share price jump 29% after it reported an updated National Instrument 43-101 mineral resource estimate for its Yenipazar polymetallic deposit in Turkey, which showed an Indicated resource of 2.62 million gold equivalent ounces at 3.05 g/t.
