The downfall of the mainstream media

Every few weeks I feel it necessary to remind you of the big picture regarding the US election. We speak to Lee Fang of The Intercept, co-author of the recent piece, "Memo Shows What Major Donors Like Goldman Sachs Want from Democratic Party (https://www.democracynow.org/2016/10/12/leaked_hillary_clinton_emails_could_bernie) ". My bet is you probably didn't hear about that one despite the fact that it's a follow-up to the leaked emails that show the same cooperation of many members of the media with Mrs. Clinton's campaign in the primary versus Bernie Sanders.

We're not only seeing that the decent of American democracy exemplified and propelled by the tragic no-win choice between Mr. Trump and Hillary Clinton, we are also witnessing the polarization of the mainstream media that mirrors the political world.

In a nutshell the commentariat's clearly chosen political affiliations not only over journalistic standards, but over the public interest. In response an increasing number of the public has chosen alternative sources of news and information.

Predictably the majority of the commentariat is focused on the fragmentation of the Republican Party but don't seem to understand that Clinton's nomination is doing the same thing to the Democrats. The Democratic establishment has elevated the most deceitful, dishonest, manipulative elitist in memory. At times unethically, as the anti Saunders emails reveal.

My prediction? The political establishment and their friends in the mainstream media are on their way out no matter who's elected.

The pension crisis in states like Illinois, Alaska and New Jersey will accelerate bye 2013. The 1.3 trillion dollars in unfunded liabilities is going to double which in turn will add significantly to the disillusionment of a growing segment of the population who Hillary Clinton calls the deplorables.
