Thomson Reuters to Track Bitcoin Sentiment

Canadian media giant Thompson Reuters announced Monday that it will be reporting more on Bitcoin.

In a news release, the Company said it will search through more than 400 news and social media sites to assess market-moving sentiments. Data will be delivered through daily, hourly, and minutely feeds for investors.

Thomson Reuters currently provides prices for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple and Bitcoin Cash via its flagship financial desktop platform Eikon.

Crypto news and info site Cointelegraph found that there is a direct correlation in Google Trends data from “Bitcoin” searches to its price, meaning that what happens online is tied to its value, even if it is not the direct cause.

The Thomson family regularly tops Canadian Business’Richest People list, with an estimated net worth of $41.14 billion.
