Low fees have been a primary selling point for exchange-traded funds since the dawn of the industry over two decades ago. Although Vanguard has not been involved in the ETF business for all of those 20-plus years, the company has been able to become the second-largest U.S. ETF issuer due in large part to its low fees.
Knowing that lower fees mean investors keep more of their investment dollars over long holding periods is to say Vanguard ETFs offer some value. Investors can get some of that value while accessing value stocks with the Vanguard Value ETF (NYSE: VTV). VTV charges a scant 0.09 percent per year, or $9 for every $10,000 invested. That makes VTV less expensive than 92 percent of rival ETFs.
