Gatekeeper Systems Inc. (TSXV:GSI) received a C$645,000 purchase contract from Cascades East Transit (CET) in central Oregon.
The deal was signed via its wholly owned subsidiary, Gatekeeper Systems USA Inc. in Bristol, PA, to equip 77 CET transit vehicles with video and data solutions.
The Canadian provider of intelligent video and data solutions will equip the transit vehicles with mobile data collectors, driver panic buttons and multiple video recording devices. The contract also includes video analytics hosted solutions and ongoing maintenance.
“Intelligent real-time video allows our operations team to improve the overall transit experience for central Oregon residents and visitors,” CET’s transportation director, Andrea Breault, commented in a news release. “After a competitive review, Gatekeeper was selected for their experience and industry-leading video and data solutions. We look forward to working further with Gatekeeper as we expand our fleet.”
CET is operated by Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council and connects people through its transit service. CET bus services include fixed-routes within the city of Bend, and connectors throughout central Oregon.
Based out of Abbotsford, B.C., Gatekeeper Systems Inc. uses AI, video analytics, and mobile data collectors to interconnect public transportation assets within a smart city ecosystem. The company’s PaaS business model is centred on wirelessly enabled MDCs. Since its inception, the company has installed approximately 40,000 intelligent MDCs and 100,000 video devices on school buses across 3,500 school districts.
This news follows the recent contract Gatekeeper signed with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority to equip five of its transit locomotives with image and audio recording devices, including crash-hardened memory modules.
Gatekeeper Systems Inc. last traded at $0.72 per share and its stock is up 33.33 per cent year-to-date.
