Baytex's Equity Value "Has Plenty of Running Room," RBC Capital Markets Says


10:44 AM EDT, 05/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Baytex Energy (BTE.TO)'s equity value "has plenty of running room" but requires the company to achieve progress on its free cash flow generation, net debt reduction, and shareholder returns, RBC Capital Markets said Tuesday.

RBC said these factors should become more apparent for the company during the second half.

RBC said its "constructive stance" toward Baytex reflects its "solid" leadership and increased scale in the Eagle Ford following the Ranger deal.

Funny. That's exactly what I was going to post in response to your question on summer of 2025. Before bte does anything, it needs to produce and stop talking about producing. It needs to generate 500 fcf in Q2&3. Then we'll start to see it move imo.  If you're looking at summer of 2025, that's 5 quarters from now. I'd think that's 1B fcf at high 70s wti given the ...more

Well said, I agree with your comment. Strongly doubt Baytex would be able to reduce share count under 700 million (@ current strip prices and $700M yearly FCF) by 2026 summer.
