Alcoa (
NYSE:AA,
Stock Forum), a New York-based firm engaged in the engineering and manufacture of aluminum, titanium and nickel product for the manufacture of such things as aircraft, automobiles and commercial transportation, announced today that the company had signed a long-term supply agreement with Spirit AeroSystems for aluminum sheet worth an estimated $290.0 million over five years.
According to the
news release, “Alcoa will provide Spirit with aluminum sheet products for fuselage skins from its Davenport (Iowa) facility, which houses the world’s largest and most advanced aluminum rolling mill.”
President, Global Aerospace, Transportation and Industrial Rolled Products at Alcoa, Mark Vrablec, commented, “Alcoa produces lightweight metallic solutions for the aerospace industry that deliver strength, aerodynamic efficiencies, and corrosion resistance.”
He then concluded, “This new multi-year contract with Spirit deepens our collaborative relationships and enables us to continue to grow in this important market. We are well-established in the aerospace industry and offer the best value and performance to our customers.”
