In regards to point 1, NGC can't patent after fact when others are already using commercially shown technology so that will not be happening.  Point 2 is exactly what's happening -- NGC is trying to stop the Alabama train momentum.  But it's questionable - let's see if the regulators get involved as NGC should never have been allowed to announce that.  I've heard about GLK and it has a number of issues including serious legal ones that are in court now and not only to do with hires so I'm questioning what you are saying - as of today ALP does not have any legal issues so all this hoop la is pure negative spec in a bad market considering when GLK gets sued months back and announces a week ago and the stock is still stable.
