Q3 Results

I agree with KYnofly. The Q3 numbers may be positive, but nearly good enough. YTD is an $8.7mm loss. Historically, Q4 is not great. With snow already flying out west, things could tighten up in a hurry. Most governments have little money left for project work so the future may not be nearly as bright as they predict. Until they deal with the debt and financing costs, they'll continue to bleed. Breaking up into two divisions is good provided it's being done to facilitate a sale. Combining Steel, Plastic and Concrete along with building a pyramid Management structure was wrong. Time to undo it.

Kevin is set to be President of the Drainage side of Armtec. He was one of upper management that spearhead the original dismantling on the original corporate structure of 'old Armtec'.   He is not the right person for top honours of the Drainage side.  In my books, he is untrustworthy and bears the negative history of what wrecked Armtec back in 2009-2010.   I follow this ...more

Everything he has said about Armtec and Kevin is exactly correct.People are sending out their resumes constantly now that KY is back in charge,he has no clue about what is going on in the Central Region.

Nerves, From what I have been told, what you say is accurate. If Mr. Young has no intrinsic value to Armtec I  have to wonder why Mr. Anderson keeps him when they have dismissed a number of very good and experienced managers. It seems that there are a few "personal favourites" in place now. This at the expense of sound business knowledge and experience. I don't think Anderson ...more

Having watched closely the events of the last 3 years that initiated the management drain.....I am not optimistic (as Ive explained earlier re: management). I believe that they were forced into picking people like Mr. Young as the pool of competent managers is at an all time low.  Previous management completely castrated this company by the elimination and out sourcing of whole departments of ...more

Based upon the last 4 years this company is headed lower or it will be broken up and sold.  Prior to all the acquistions in 2008/2009, this company was a "Crown Jewel".  It was run by managers with experience, integrity and knew the key reason for its 100 years of success.  Relationships with customers built upon treating employees with "family" values.  ...more
