Be nice if it were true

Like so many legends and myths -- it would be nice to think that Armtec could strategically price jobs and be the company that they tell everyone they are. The glossy brochures and snappy slogans are just smoke mirrors. Armtec is a paper tiger and always has been. Its low tech to no tech on the food chain of Canadian companies that supply infrastructure products. It can't be stated in clearer terms that the people that came in during the growth years of 2007 and 2009 truly had no idea what they were doing. Kevin Young was a disaster in every way. Mark Anderson has continued the tradition of inept leadership at Armtec. Stop clutching at the straws. As I've said before the emperor has no clothes....and never did!!

I bet a few got hung up on .06 and then .04 to nil may end up being a total loss, cash is king it's so easy to get smaked in this market and a lot of junk, money is very tight so if a company cannot generate cash it no longer can financial engineer its way out, I ve started my own reit and its a lot better return than equities, and really helps on the bottom line return year over year

Very well stated; ARF was bereft of capable management, Board-level direction or the ability to run a two-car funeral.  As in all such situations the holders of the corporate cheque book did very well over the last four years.  I continue to believe and await disclosure that somewhere in this miasma there was a corporate jet either owned, leased or regularly used by Anderson and his ...more

Amen! Brookfield would have been privy to year end financials prior to them agreeing to the transaction agreement. They are not stupid. We may never see the financials without the regulator or a court order. I am becoming even more suspect of Anderson....he may have an agreement with Brookfield to push this through. Not sure what the board is doing....maybe preparing their resignations....they may ...more

The talk now is that they are entertaining proposals from other than Brookfield.  I truely hope they are and this is not just some window dressing for the eventual takeover by Brookfield. I also heard the private jet stories. If that's the case I have lost what little respect I had. Lots of good people here who deserve the opportunity to make whats left of Armtec great again.  Lose ...more

Good point Rusty - That jet thing is ridiculous. If true, someone needs to go. Wool, 2Grey and Truth - You guys are spot on. I enjoy your insights. Truth - your comment on Mr. Young was a blast - no truer words spoken.  Sadly they still have some of that mindset around.

Any rumors on someone other than Brook is in my opinion trade bait furthermore, I ordered a brochure of their products and found it sadly lacking. It presented itself as being advertisement from the 1970'. Normally I find with companies that are about to fold, there is nothing behind the outer shell. Isn't it like the final scene of Mad Max (1979) when they find they were chasing a tanker ...more
