According to the latest data from Statistics Canada, Canada's pot industry generated about $8.65 billion for the country's economy in May. 

The country’s legal cannabis industry contributed about $4.66 billion to Canada's gross domestic product (GDP) as of May, StatsCan reported. That's up about 11% since the same period a year earlier. Meanwhile, the illicit (black) market continues to trend downward and is estimated to contribute $3.92 billion to the country's economy, down about 13% since May 2019, said StatsCan.
