biological assets

What does everyone think this number will be in this Q3. My feeling is it will be large for odvious reasons. If that is the case then, depending on revenue for the quarter this quarter could be very good to the point of having earnings.  It will be interesting to see what they say on the 11th.

You got me. "Obviously"

Sorry I thought Fleamarket and others on this board knew what this number represented. it is,  simply put,the value of the crop standing in the field less expenses. After it is harvested it is moved to inventory. The off setting entry is on the Income statement.

I assumed you knew what it meant; but, others may not understand this number. from the Q2 results they used 66000 kg as the number. You feel it is higher. At 66000 kg the number is large. I hope they have had better international sales it would help to justify the Australian venture. So I feel they could show eps this Quarter.

The flower in Q4 will be reported at cost of producing it. It will either be raw materials work in process or finished good. Last year it was approx 35 cent

They record inv at cost so you are saying they are selling for less?
Comment by IMB on Oct 30, 2020 11:43am
That happens alot with manufacturers if the ending inv is less than the opening what you say will happen. At some point in time it will happen so to offset that you need sales lots of them that is why these international sales are so important.

Wholesale in Q2 was not just dried flower. It was also comprised of extract sales. They did not break it out to show how much was flower and how much was extracts. From the last MD&A: "Bulk wholesale revenue was generated from the sale of dried flower and processed cannabis extracts."  They either converted it themselves and sold it, or had it extracted by someone else (or ...more

Let's say 5-6x earnings to be fair to logic and really our own expectations. No one is going to give Aleafia the insane pie-in-the-sky multiples they give to Canopy, unless Aleafia can establish itself as the cannabis company to invest in, as Canopy did.  Horse first, then cart. That said, Aleafia's expenses will never equate to that of Canopy, so Aleafia May be able ...more

Do you know if the harvest is over ? If not, the freeze that there was, there could be quite a bit of loss, right?

My tomatoes are ripening in the freeze as we speak. It depends on the flower, but you can do things to mitigate frost... like spraying the crop with water overnight like oranges. Anyway I don't think that it is a problem. With a freeze you wouldn't get a plant just dissapearing into the netherworld, the plant just starts to die slowly. If a plant died from cold they would just harvest it ...more
