Friday quaing o shorts is done and or. for the patient one opportunity will knock. 1120ish next support for gold. as for ANV.. I would rather buy BTO which is fully unheedged.

I meant shorts squared some positions this Friday. If next week we get another flood of good news from The US we most likely go lower. chart is getting very oversold... specially silver which may be attacked by the bears and hit 15.50ish tough to predict at this point but that is the Grim pic I see ahead. there will be impressive bargains out there but not for the faint of heart. granafirme, I have a large portfolio of PM miners which I had hedged with short positions this week. I closed my short hedges on Friday as I see near term capitulation in gold/silver and the miners. I may be a little early and I tend to be early in my trading, but Friday looked like classical capitulation by longs and we had huge volume in GDX, GDXJ, SIL and Comex gold and silver futures. This may ...more

gold guy. pretty good analogy . I also see that gap which will eventually get filled. it is hard to predict when or how a bottom shows up . nevertheless , the breach of 1180 on gold was not an uneventful issue. Nothing goes down in a straight line but I sure see the long term trend down since the gold bull run . so far we have a 50% retracement from the low of about 300 bux ( 2000/2001 year). as ...more

one more thing to note Goldguy is that (not in ur chart) but if u throw in BB bands Macd and Stoch RSI u will find the coincidence(lets call it that way) Of the prelude of the long bull run decade. As u mentioned and I agree We have a major bearish and long candlestick on the weekly chart so far. No signal of a bottom has been pronounced yet, even though the weekly chart entered oversold area. It ...more

granafirme I agree that there is no definitive evidence of a bottom in place for gold. My covering my short hedges on Friday was based mostly on the high volume near term washout look. This has the look of a market that has gone too far, too fast, and not yet a market that has bottomed. I may well be back to hedged on my longs if the market continues lower. As far as chart support for gold goes ...more

Goldguy. we both have the same opinion. I would have squred my short positions on Friday also. specially If I had any in Silver. the data you posted must be accurate. I read the data from CFTC directly but somehow after Friday they are down . either way I will Recheck it tomorrow. maybe maintenance or their site . As for small specs I surely would go against them because that is the way the game ...more
