Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

I have read some great articles from Motley Fool in the past but this guy...  is wrong.

Everyone continues to forget about CanniMed which listed to the TSX between Xmas and New Year.  CMED.TO flies under the radar because they only have 20.6 million shares total on the float... and is thinly traded.

So to correct "the Fool", there is currently 2 (two) on the TSX at present moment, and APH will eventually make 3 (three) companies in the MJ space on the the big board

Cannimed has approx 97,000 square feet of production in Canada (Saskatchewan) formerly Prant Plant Systems.. and has been growing medicinal marijuana for 13+ years.  Far longer than anyone at WEED or APH.  It also has an operation in Michigan with 35,000 square feet.  It has another 80,000 square feet underway in progress.  Cannimed currently has 11,000 active patients under their umbrella

This company is very interesting.  They have the most stringent Quality Control Systems in place than any other operation in Canada and has had zero issues meeting the strictest standards (I beleive the prospectus said 181 different quality control measures in place).  It will be interesting to see financials once they are released.  Just remember... this stock is new to the market so it is relatively low key compared to the original COMA stocks.

As per CMED news release today, the company is now participating in research surrounding Multiple Sclerosis now too

CMED, for the time being, appears to be more of a pharmaceutical play than a recreational MJ play based on their current focus of operations.

My guess, based on their experience and stict QC systems, is that CMED would likely have first mover advantage once any pharmacies are involved in dispensing MJ based medicines of any kind.  I would also assume that this is still likely a ways out until the government makes a lot things more clear in legalization, and legislation.

Disclosure - I am long both CMED and APH and they are by far my favorites in the entire sector.

Good Luck to All.
