To be fair to the person that asked the question, you should really back out $4 million in earnings reported in today's net income as it didn't come from their growing operations but from strategic investments.
I'm have always been very bullish on Aphria, but I also question management on a daily basis. I take nothing for granted.
Tell me, why do you think Aphria chose today to release their quarterly report without giving shareholders advanced notice? Are they trying to bury something in today's report? Why the increase in CGS? How do they project an increase in yield from 70 grams per square foot to 75 grams per square foot when yield actually decreased in their last quarter?
Yes, there are a lot of unanswered questions, but I'm still bullish on Aphria and believe they are the clear industry leader. However, I will continue to question all their moves and if they stumble or dont execute their business plan, I wont have any trouble selling my shares. I dont think they will stumble, but if there is one thing I am sure of it is still too early in the game to determine who the winner will be. A lot can change in three years and people should only be in love with a stock so long as a company is performing to expectations. Always be aware of whats going on and don't be afraid to question managements decsion.
Thanks for the great discussion here. Very refreshing not to be accused of being a basher by asking the "tough" but legit questions.
I agree with brent re.the time-line....much to happen, especially after legalization happens.During that time, all the other 40plus medical MJ producers will be doing everything to ramp up expansion and production capacity and many, many more new players will come along adding to capacity and future supply. As in the US ,where states have legalized MJ,I also expect a significant drop in product .
