Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

I was stupid and completely forgot Aphria can't own Sol due to the no American asset rule. I guess what I want to know is why does Aphria need that penny stocks company to overpay for global assets? Is Andy and Sol really the only single option for doing global business? Is there not any other more cost effective option out there for aquiring assets globally? I don't understand why we need Sol or Andy. I fail to understand their purpose.

IMHO I think Andy has the contacts with government officials and others in these countries. He is going into some not so friendly areas. He is able to get the licences done and done quickly. He wants to be compensated for it. Canopy and ACB are doing the same. RIV is in the same business now. Find assets and sell them to Canopy at a premium. The Columbia licence is expected to produce 30000 to 50000 kg per year. This one license will pay off their investment in no time.
