Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

Carl responds to DD license delays

Carl responds to DD license delays
"Tin foil hat season again. Conspiracy theories abound. If they dont have it by now, there must be something wrong. WHY? Sometimes it just takes longer. Whether that is because we are located in Ontario, with the same HC resources as other provinces but with significantly more LPs, or because HC is trying to protect the industry by avoiding scandals. It doesnt matter, I am a bottom-line person. We thought we would get the licence in November and here it is August and we dont have it yet. That is why every reference we ever made to ADs licencing included the phrase subject to Health Canada approval. We are all frustrated over that but HC needs to do what it needs to do. They control the licencing process, not us and not investors. As Irwin said in the call, we continue to engage in dialogue with HC. At various times in the year they have prioritized other types of licences. Currently, they are dealing with a major event that no one expected. Unsurprisingly, that has diverted resources and caused them to change their procedures. We all look forward to the Friday in the future when we receive the licence. It will represent the next major step forward for Aphria."
