Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

Any JV suitor, especially large multi national will want three things to be in place before they marry APHA.

1. The ability to produce product at a large industrial scale consistantly and meet the JV's demand.  This can only be accomplished once DD is approved.  A JV will not introduce a new product into the market unless it knows the ingredients are available.   What a mistake a company like Pepsi would make if they went into a JV with someone and introduced a infused bev into the market, only to find in 6 months they don't have enough ingredients to continue production.

2. Accountable and traceable supply chain management.  A JV will want to know exactly what is being produced , when and where the product is at all time.  Any large multi national will not chance unaccountable ingredients going into it's products.  This is where TruTrace comes into play.

3. Strong corporate governance in APHA.

Furthermore, for those that did not listen to the BNN report on CannTrust today.  This is very connected to what I am talking about.  Traceable and accountable product will be the key to any JV and the future of this industry.
