Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

RE:Questions about GMP

RE:Questions about GMP
Donbgamecock wrote: Is the GMP corporate wide (even for new operations)?  I ask because the timing of AD licensing could be dependent on getting Apria 1 ops GMP certified in order to supply increasing export demands ( flower, oils, extracts, etc).  Once that happens, AD would be needed to supply Canada before it gets its GMP certification?   Also, are any of the LATAM ops earmarked for GMP certification.  GMP cert processes are expensive.   How much of an impact will this have on costs?

OT- Any info on how well the new growing techniques are working out?  This effort to get more yield per plant with less effective sqft reqirements were originally mentioned earlier this year.

EU GMP is only necessasry if the compnay want to sell its products in the EU.  DD does not need EU GMP to get the HC license.  APH 1 is applying for EU GMP.  I beleive Aphria Colombia is also looking to EU GMP certification .  But that will take some time.  The key right now is APH 1 gets its EU GMP.  This allows APHA to have a foothold in Germany.   APHA Germany facility is in a build out stage.  Even when complete the tenders in Germany APHA has been awarded are small.  Germany will need to continue to import MJ for some the time being.  APH 1 also has extraction capabilities.  So the EU GMP certification on APH 1 will include dry bud and oils.  I believe EU GMP is a bigger catalyst then DD certification.
