Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

Every analyst agrees and likes the deal.  Tilray brings the edibles & drinkables platform for Aphria, Shoppers medical sales, clinical trials 4 in the USA, and a large British Columbia plant to ramp-up Aphria’s Broken Coast production.  Aphria will supply Tilray’s under capacity as they currently buy wholesale.  In Europe, the merger combines two of the strongest international cannabis players and further increases their first mover advantage over MSOs. Tilray's Manitoba Harvest (Hemp/CBD) fast tracks Aphria with Irwin Simon's Whole Foods connections and ABInbev connection should fast track SweetWater's expansion into Canada/EU.  GLTA
