Apparently July 17 was a big day for the MJ Sector in
terms of retail outlets. Canada crossed the 1000 th retail store mark. Alberta and British Columbia have 494 and 211 stores. Ontario I believe is at 115 roughly. My question to everyone is Why Quebec has only 43? I don't live in Canada so I am a mushroom in the dark a bit. Again, I would of thought Quebec would be at least the same as Onatrio. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Culture. Quebec is politically different than the rest of Canada, and less open to Marijuana. Funny enough, BC is the most open, but that is why their sales will struggle because the grey and black market is widely accepted. Ontario is the key market in Canada.

Well I think Quebec was stuck at 42 stores for a while so they might be increasing stores again. I just counted 43 current stores as well. Here is an old article- https://www.leafly.ca/news/industry/sqdc-retail-100-stores-from-150

Here is another old article.https://mjbizdaily.com/deadline-nears-for-proposals-to-renovate-new-quebec-cannabis-stores/ Here is a quote from the article which disproves my theory which I wrote in my last post. "The province is looking to expand the number of adult-use cannabis stores beyond the 43 scheduled to be opened by March 31"
