The strategy

Irwin Simon wants to Aphria to be the Constellation and Altria. He wants aphria to buy and consume the companies being in control rather then the vice versa at Canopy. Once you understand that, the moves make sense. Even if the laws don't change anytime soon Irwin Simon checked to major boxes we all have been complaining about. We diversified and if laws don't change its absolutely okay that Aphria sells beverages in the USA. That in itself is okay to have under our umbrella of products until laws do change. When they do, we will stick THC, CBD and everything else we can think of in those beverages and distribute quality pot to Americans. We also now have a distribution outlet South of the border that can move farther South into Mexico when they legalize this month. Irwin Simon made great moves based on the strategy he chose. I would have preferred a buy in from a larger company not requiring dilution but he advanced us on the path he's taking. Simon gets points today and yes we diluted because buying a distribution and beverage company in America costs money. It was like his previous dilutions that didn't coincide with anything beneficial. The man made moves today.  Let's see if he continues on this path

Look you've seen my posts in the past?  Who's been more critical of Irwin Simon?  Yes it's a great move. I'm sure the depressed economy led to a discount of the purchase price. It may have been twice that cost. He gave us a foothold in the USA reletaively cheap considering what we're getting. It's expensive for Aphria but not bad for what it is. Furthermore we are ...more
