Funny Board

who is this fool that is comparing aphria to canopy? Aphria is Small Potatoes with terrible management. They took their footprint down so far that they were able to turn a profit. While aphria was downsizing canopy was busy purchasing very key assets like acreage which holds over 90 dispensary licenses / cultivation licenses / processing licenses Etc. The minute the canopy implements the deal with acreage constellation will acquire the second tranche of shares for another 5 billion. That will give canopy over 7 billion dollars to go into the u.s. and take advantage of the 90 licenses that acreage holds. Canopy within a year will become the largest US MSO by far. Aphria on the other hand has a craft brewing company that has no licenses that have anything to do with the US cannabis industry. Without licenses aphria can do nothing related to cannabis in the US. It's an absolute joke to compare the craft brewing company Sweetwater to acreage Holdings. Did you clowns know that on the board of acreage sits Brian Mulroney, former prime minister of Canada, and John Boehner, former Speaker of the House of Representatives for the USA. How do you think acreage was the company to get the most licenses in the US. How favorably do you think they'll be treated moving forward when they're applying for licenses because of their connections. You fools seem to be blinded by the trees so you can't see the forest. After acreage, canopy has biosteel. Biosteel is going to be a big part of canopy's success. Just Google biosteel athlete signings and take a look at the Marquee athletes lining up behind this brand. After that we have the Martha Stewart line of wellness products for people and animals. After that we have Snoop Dogg standing behind canopy products. Wait until canopy can unleash their seven and a half billion dollar War chest for expansion, Acquisitions and marketing. In Canada, a company like aphria has a much easier time competing because you cannot truly build brands in Canada due to the restriction on Advertising. In the US, cash is King and advertising will rule the day. I haven't even mentioned yet that constellation brands has a market cap of 36 billion and annual revenue of 8.3 billion. Sweetwater had annual revenues of 66 million, so please stop the ridiculous comparisons. The Sweetwater acquisition gives aphria no entry into the US cannabis Market because currently neither Sweetwater nor aphria have access to any required licenses to grow produce or sell cannabis in the US. Those licenses are hard to get. Good luck with your declining beer sales. Mark my words, Sweetwater was an aquisition to trigger executive compensation, nothing more.

Your block of text is a lot like Canopy business plans... a lot of ideas thrown together but not structured.  No one talks about Tweed or other brands is because it's a dust product so congrats on selling some upfront then not getting many renewed customers. Aphria sells more than Canopy in Canada already because of this. The product you are selling is not as simple as coca-cola so ...more

Irishcanuck, I'm embarrassed for you. Do you have any basic math skills? Aphria had 17.5 million of EBITDA in 2020. At that rate it will take 145 years to get the resources Canopy has right now. When Constellation buys the second tranche of shares from Canopy, it will only take 428 years for Aphria to rival Canopy's resources. The purchase of the second tranche of shares will likely happen ...more

Sorry, one more thing. Please don't ever quote or provide a link to a Motley Fool article or no one will take you seriously. They are a 2 bit rag, the National Enquirer of the financial industry if you will.

lol, no chance BioSteel comes close to Aphria's revenue. BioSteel does about 2M per Q, not even close. Canopy is a terrible company. Declining revenues, hundereds of Millions in losses, probably the worst quality cannabis in the market. Their drinks aren't even the best. Their costs are so high they have zero path to profitiability. There is a reason they are interested in buying Aphria ...more

Good call Kingbear, I actually wan't even going to go into the "Canopy acquire Aphria" rumour and Simon's shot across the bow how "if Constellation were to have a repeat they would have invested in Aphia comment"  But to Stretch, this is my respons to you:  Oh wow, so you're even more aggressive than your first post eh? Time to get high on your own ...more

So what you are saying is you don't know Aphria's US entry plan. I can't blame you because there is none. I'm sure Constellation would pick Aphria over Canopy if they could go back and do it again but then again Aphria's management team got caught with their hands in the cookie jar and got punished for it. Credentials??? If you have any credentials I hope nobody is paying ...more

Here comes captain moron to the rescue. Do you have proof that Canopy is interested in Aphria??? You don't because your just a clown trying to rescue a fellow aphria fan boy. We will all wait here for your proof. You will have to borrow a few crickets from the irishcanuck to dull the silence of not providing proof There have been a lot of big deals. We found the Trump of Stockhouse lmao Aphria has the largest market share in Ontario and Alberta, plus huge in B.C. and Quebec. Check out Canopy's Investor presontation slide #20, Canopy can't even claim to be in Top 3 LPs of Ontario, and they brag about Top 3 in Nova Scotia and PEI? Like come on man those are peanuts to brag about at the time to really drive enthusiasm for investors ...more

Don't run away so fast. We are all still waiting for your US entry plan??? Those crickets are getting tired. As far as me being Trump. Everything I have presented is fact and most of what you have presented can't be verified or is very obviously false which is the same MO as Trump. Have a good night Donald.

lol everyone knows I am more than critical of the company, I chirp the management all the tim, but Canopy has done nothing but fail. Writedowns, layoffs, worst quality cannabis. If Canopy is so great why has their cash pile dwindled from 5.5B 2.5 years ago, down to 2B. Why does Canopy's revenue dip every Q while Aphria's increase? Molson is just a JV with HEXO. Molson is a struggling ...more

You are so dumb and dishonest in your posting I can't even respond to you. You are no longer relevant to this conversation.
Comment by Planetoflimes on Nov 09, 2020 7:45am
Kingbear, I totally disagree with you. Canopy has been a great investment for myself and sector leader. Your view is tainted only by your stench of being an Aphria bagholder. Irwin is a man with no plan. Also, you spoke too soon about Canopy, their Q looks good and beats market expectations.
Comment by Planetoflimes on Nov 09, 2020 7:50am
also enjoy the gap up and sector short squeeze this am thanks to the company you longs talk trash about hecause the gap up did not come from investors looking to get into Irwin's beer quest
Comment by kingbear on Nov 09, 2020 10:35am
PlanetofLime: I think you need to learn how to read a financial statement. Another 100M loss and negative adj. EBITDA of 86M. THey need to triple their revenue to have positive EBITDA. Meanwhile Aphria will be posting close to 20M EBITDA next quarter. CGC also down to 1.8B in cash. Sad!
Comment by Paray99 on Nov 09, 2020 10:45am
Bllsht, you will see where Aphira in next couple of weeks. Canopy is not making anything compared to the market cap. For me Aphira looks to be well placed and well priced at the moment to go up nice. It doesn't mean that I am Irwin Simon's fan!

Hey homewretch: you're an ignorant pos and likely a short (in every sense of the word) and have clearly not done your DD re/aphria. Ignorant=Iggy button. Now off you go Iggy! Glta longs
