Tilray vote gets extended

Wondering why ? The votes required to pass aren't available as of the previous date and management extends in hope to beat the drum to receive more votes 

Some believe it isn't the deal for them and the writing was on the wall with news release of an extension required

For what it's worth, I think it's more about outside influence not wanting the deal to happen. The new company will be a major global player and this could scare some.

The votes may not yet be available but I would not assume Tilray shareholders are not in favour of the deal. It is likely that a lot of them have not voted (could be apathy or some report not receiving voting materials). This is important because of the way Tilray has structured the voting process. Now that Tilray has dropped the quorum requirement of shareholders present at the meeting from a majority to one-third they should have no problems getting the votes to approve the merger. Remember that the issue here is not necessarily that the votes so far are against the merger, but rather that not enough voters have voted. The votes so far are likely overwhelmingly in favour of the merger as ...more
