Since you own no shares nor debentures, just what is your interest here? Who do you work for?

I am retired. I once owned ARN shares, but after they sold debentures to pay for pipelines and roads etc, I sold. Why? First, the acid fracs didn't work as well as hoped for, and second, because, the infrastructure added no value and the balance sheet became seriously stretched. Never the less, I am interested in the outcome here. Frankly, I was surprised that ARN attracted/found the Aspenleaf ...more

But why are you defending a deal where the common shareholders get money from the debenture holders, if you have no economic interest?

These are opinion boards and I am intrigued by the outcome of the Aspenleaf offer. My opinion is based on my belief that the alternative to Aspenleaf's offer is worse for both shareholders and debenture holders, both in the short term aftermath of a negative vote and the longer term.
