Employee retention bonuses

So, from the sounds of it, Arcan management has had fun celebrating this summer and we get the reward of a new low. From what I can gather, both Terry McCoy and Doug Penner have been away for the last month, sunning themselves in Europe at your expense. I've called several times in the last 2 months to clarify one of the many questions I have, with no real luck in getting either of them. I've heard rumblings around that the retention bonuses will be paid to management as well as staff. Graeme Ryder gets $300k in October, just for hanging around... Isn't that lovely? What would the rest of the gang get? I'd ask Barney, he knows lots, but I hear he was biking around Europe, working on his tan as well. So, do we know how much the management team is being paid to be 'retained'? And could we arrange to have them 'detained' instead? Because I would have an easier time if my money went to that cause rather than expensive trips...

Sorry to disappoint you but Barney has NOT been in Europe or anywhere else? Barney is like you, a disappointed stock holder. If Aspenleaf had paid more money to the deb holders and shareholders it would be a different story? Why is the stock loosing value? No negative news that I have seen. Any intelligent comments anyone?

I am not a holder ...more

There's no negative news because analysts can't be bothered reporting on this lame-duck company anymore.  When Arcan's Management (or more appropriately mis-management) endorses a deal with a buyer who's president publicly states that the company is stuck in the mud and ultimately fail without additional capital and then not get the deal done because they lacked the foresight ...more

there is always a flip side. As it is, ARN is treading water trying to keep production flat. Try imagining Arcan's situation if field people familiar with operations, like drilling and completion engineers left the company. Who in their right mind would want to work for a company like ARN that is on life support as it is? Perhaps if it wasn't for retention bonus to employees, they would be ...more
