RE: RE: Active Control launches ActiveMine(TM) par
What they aren't saying is what applications are currently out there that they have certified. What apps are wanting to be certified.
Just blue skying this, but IF I am a mine manager. I need to monitor gasses and stuff in the mine. I also have the Miners Act bearing down on me. God knows what else I should be doing in the mine that requires data networks to be in place and each one wants a wire run which can get expensive with copper and more so with glass ( fibre optic ).
This newly certified product says that I can be Wi-Fi ( all the latest craze amongst the management level making IT decisions ) and that other applications can still run on it and not impact the safety levels I have to maintain on the same network...
It seems to me if I am asking the IT guys advice ( because I don't get what it means ) that it's a no brainer. And if I am not asking their advice it's because I know a little something about this stuff...
But if there are no hopefuls in the wings right now then it just means this is a future positive surprise... maybe a year from now ? or two ????
Or....
There are some big players waiting in the wings and their barrier to entry was the expense of installing a separate network. They have been talking with ACT for sometime now and finally the two of them figured out how to do this and still be compliant with the Miners Act. And they are possibly close to announcing. And it could be a catalyst to other service applications and to mine managers making the decision to buy ACT.
I personallly think based on how we are trading that it's the first scenario... Good news but not material in the short term... if I am wrong we should know by the close.
