they sell short shares from clients of the brokerage that is doing the pp, so the firm is kind of screwing clients whos shares are being shorted unless its the same client who is participating in the pp which means he is selling his own shares short, taking the 60 grand to pay for the shares through the pp and you say he gives these shares back to the firm,

if the shorted shares were from another client the firm puts them back.

if its the same person he can buy back the shares cheeper and get warrants.
