RE: AUO

RE: AUOAUO ought to have great 2 years, until they commoditize LCD like they have TV's and RAM. I have been in since $7.20US and plan to stay for at least $40US. One year Korea quadrupled production of RAM and LO it became a commoditised product, droped from $40US a meg to $2 very quickly. AUO is buiding fab plants that could do 70-80 inch Screens. Or smaller screens cheaper. They can do 1.8 times 2.5 meter glass in gen 7 fab. 46" is on market at $12,000, which is pricey compared to Plasma which has 60" for that price. The real volume will be 15-22" which will replace the computer monitor, huge market. And 20-35 inch replacing standard TV. Not sure why but plasma dosnt seem to scale down to 15-30inch. whereas LCD scales down to sub 1" for view finders etc. AUO makes apx 15% from smaller screens, 30% from larger screens with vulume on larger growing fast, so profit will grow faster than sales. All industry pundits are predicting huge growth in LCD. Will replace plasma as prefered flat screen? Is lighter, cooler and overall very competitive. Also AUO is pure LCD play, wheras someone like SamSung (great company) competes with its own plasma and projection markets.
