International Commercial Television, Inc.: Poland Is Looking Very Attractive
2006-11-09 13:50 ET - News Release
BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 11/09/06
International Commercial Television, Inc. (OTCBB: ICTL) ("ICTV" or "The Company") a premier, full-service international retail and Direct Response Television ("DRTV") marketing company targeting the multi-billion dollar health and beauty industry is pleased to announce that The Company has received additional purchase orders from Studio Moderma ("SM") a leading Direct Response Television company headquartered in Eastern Europe with offices in Romania, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Kosovo Albania and Ukraine serving 320 million people in the Central and Eastern European markets.
As previously mentioned in The Company's news release of October 17th 2006, announcing that ICTV had received a purchase order for 3980 Derma Wand kits from Studio Moderna. SM recently advised the Company their projected order rate for the Derma Wand will not satisfy continuing consumer demand. The sales velocity of the initial order was extremely rapid and substantially more than originally anticipated in the markets of Poland and Slovenia. SM has now forwarded new purchase orders totaling 15,558 kits to satisfy the short term on-going consumer demand in Poland and Slovenia. The Company has received the 50% deposit for these orders as per the terms of sale and will receive the remaining 50% upon shipment from the Company's manufacturer. As the two markets of Poland and Slovenia represent only 2 small markets out of the 19 countries Studio Moderma operates in, the Company expects significant on-going orders from Studio Moderna. The sell through rate has been extensive and swift as evidenced by ICTV receiving these additional orders so quickly and by the substantial increased order size over the prior one of October 17th 2006.
Mr. Willett, Director of International Business Development states, "I am elated with the initial progress Studio Moderma has made with their marketing initiatives utilizing ICTV's infomercial in Poland and Slovenia. The Derma Wand order growth in such a short period is another indication of the Derma Wand infomercial strength and its ability to generate considerable revenue rapidly. ICTV can expect to have similar success in the other major European markets."
The Company has advised its manufacturer to expect increase order flow for the Derma Wand product.
Studio Moderna has a total staff of 900 employees and is the largest television shopping company in Central and Eastern Europe with a fully integrated service across 19 markets in the region. It has an average of 100 hours of infomercials, spots and live-to-tape shopping shows broadcast daily on almost 100 terrestrial, cable and local TV channels in the region, reaching 320 million people. With call and fulfillment centers in 19 different countries.
