It's always easier to predict after the fact, but the real trick is to get it right well before things shift to the upside or downside.  That is extremely rare.

Let them jump on the bandwagon, because they'll do the same thing once the metals bottom and rebound.

Looking at gold in particular, last time I checked nothing positive changed in global economics to warrant the recent drop.

There's still economic unrest in Europe, and what's with the almost $17 TRILLION US DEBT?

I think the present group of anal-ists may have forgotten that the US is still printing money at a faster pace than ever before. 

$17 TRILLION?  Something has to give sooner or later and then gold will be the safe haven again.  JMO
