Greg Gibson resigns

Barkerville's Gibson resigns as director, co-chairman 2017-03-30 12:12 ET - News Release Mr. Chris Lodder reports BGM CORPORATE UPDATE Greg Gibson has tendered his resignation as a director and co-chairman of Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. Sean Roosen will continue as sole chairman of the company. Mr. Gibson, along with the backing of Sprott Mining, led by Eric Sprott, led the restructuring of Barkerville Gold Mines at a critical time and successfully set the subsequent stage for the current development of the company, paving the way forward for the advancement of the Barkerville gold mine project to return to producer status. Chris Lodder, president and chief executive officer of Barkerville Gold Mines, commented: "On behalf of the board of directors and management of Barkerville Gold Mines, we would like to thank Greg and Sprott Mining for their invaluable contributions to advancing the project to this stage. We look forward to completing their vision by our goal of bringing Barkerville Gold Mines back to successful producer status in short order." Mr. Roosen, chairman of the board, added: "We are very grateful for the hard work done by Greg and the Sprott group; without their participation and co-operative spirit, Barkerville Gold Mines wouldn't be at the advanced stage that it is at today. With further rapid advancement of the project, we are confident that Barkerville Gold Mines will become Canada's newest gold producer in 2017."

What does anyone make of this resignation? I don't understand why someone would leave now considering the shape we are in. Thoughts?
Comment by chillyballs on Mar 30, 2017 2:39pm
With Roosen taking a bigger piece of the pie and controlling interest...no need for 2 chairmen.... Sprotts holdings are now dramatically reduced and I think Gibson was a Sprott guy... I dont see anything other than that. The resignation in my opinion was more of a ...thank-you for your service...but I will take the helm now...bye-bye!!

Exactly, totally agree.. I would expect a nice steady stream of news going forward.

I don't follow these guys that much but Roosen seems to have a great track record while Gibson was associated with the San Gold fiasco from what I recall so maybe this is a good thing. Anyone who is up on the past history of these two guys have thoughts? These recent announcements and SP movement have me excited I have to admit. Previously was thinking of selling some and waiting for the fall ...more

Allrighty.... Capt. Ahab.... just make sure if you are going to single someone out and spout history...that the history is relevant and accurate. Also...my math is real good...and I also bought at 25¢.... unfortunately I also bought at ranges in access of $1.30 back prior to the BS we now call BreGM.... BUT...I have gone against everything I believe in and averaged down to a point that scares ...more

I'm in exactly the same boat. I live and have worked claims in the area and have always "known the potential". I bought some pre George's exurberance and then I averaged down and bought lots in the teens on faith. I could have used that investment elsewhere while this was in the doldrums, but now I'm happy!  Cheers to Chilly and the Arab
