Pumpers should do some DD too
Pumpers should do some DD tooC'mon jack - surely you don't think that Exploration Assistant is the "be all and end all" of B.C. geology?!? Exploration Assistant is an excellent tool, but it is not meant to be a comprehensive compilation of all the province's geology. The geology layers in Map Place are generated from large-scale, regional mapping by the government and are really only intended to put the other datasets in a broad regional geological context. As you zoom in to property or individual claim scale, there really isn't a lot of geological detail that is usable. But then it is the job of the exploration companies to do the detailed mapping on their properties, not the government's responsibility.
Granted, Barkerville Terrane may not be listed there, but as you should have read from the many articles you have posted, the Barkerville is essentially an extension or a sub-terrane of the Kootenay. Besides, the Kangaroo isn't even in the Barkerville Terrane. It is in the Quesnel Terrane (as are all the other porphyry/intrusion-related deposits in the area).
Map Place is an excellent research tool and is useful for identifying broad exploration targets, but I doubt many (or any) companies use it once they have acquired a particular property since they usually generate their own data fairly quickly. Company-generated data is generally more dense and more detailed than what is on Map Place.
