RE: RE: subject, GA do you believeAs I implied in my previous post, boomtown, most of the world is a cesspool of bad choices. By the way, if I understand your post correctly, the foreign policy sentiments expressed in that post are way out of date. They represent one bureaucrats' viewpoint over half a century ago, do they not? George Bush, for all his foibles, at least has not followed that sort of stance on USA foreign policy. The list of dictators over the years (decades) is probably valid, but so what? Like I said, the world is a cesspool of poor choices. Always has been, probably will be for a long, long time. So what are your solutions? Throw your hands in the air and walk away from world crises? Withdraw for many overseas liaisons, business contracts, and assistance programs? Refuse to deal with any countries who do not have a freely elected democratic government? Leave the innocents who truly want peace and stability to the whims of the thugs and barbarians who, in the absence of outside intervention, inevitably rise to the top? Or would you proceed gung-ho in all of these nations with trying to install and promote better forms of government? Just curious to know how you would handle things.
