In preliminary testing, the system has detected and confirmed THC in breath out to four hours after smoking with breath samples being stored and analyzed up to two days after sample collection.

Share prices for Canada's marijuana companies fell in early trading on Thursday on a report that U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is rescinding a policy that had let legalized marijuana flourish without federal intervention across the country.

Aphria (APH.TO 13.47%), Aurora Cannabis (ACB.TO) and Canopy Growth (WEED.TO 12.76%) were all down more than 10 per cent as of 9:40 a.m. ET.

People familiar with the plan spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it before an announcement expected Thursday.

The move by President Donald Trump's attorney general likely will add to confusion about whether it's OK to grow, buy or use marijuana in states where pot is legal, since long-standing federal law prohibits it. It comes days after pot shops opened in California, launching what is expected to become the world's largest market for legal recreational marijuana and as polls show a
