Cannabix Technologies Inc C.BLO

Alternate Symbol(s):  BLOZF

Cannabix Technologies Inc. is a Canada-based developer of marijuana and alcohol breath testing devices. The Company’s primary business is the development of marijuana breathalyzer technology. It is developing technologies to detect Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in breath samples for law enforcement, employers and laboratories. In addition, it is developing non-contact alcohol screening devices targeted primarily for workplace settings. The MS Breath Sampler (MSBS) is specialized laboratory hardware developed by the Company to confirm THC in breath from humans. The MSBS is a method for collection of analytes of low volatility from human breath utilizing liquid secondary adsorption. Within the Breath Collection Unit (THC detection), the sample is captured inside a cartridge and loaded into the MSBS. In preliminary testing, the system has detected and confirmed THC in breath out to four hours after smoking with breath samples being stored and analyzed up to two days after sample collection.

Hurdles Abound. If Anyone believes any one of the ablove hurdles is a minor thing, you know nothing about your investment. You are looking at long term issues to commercialization, if ever. None of the science involving Cannabix's breathalyzer has been peer reviewed. No laws have been passed in any jurisdiction in Canada or the USA that would allow a "marijuana breathalyzer" to be used by police or employers. There isn't a court in the land that has seen a case show up in a courtroom involving a marijuana breathalyzer and unless and until one does - nobody knows what the courts will say about a device that cannot prove impairment like an Alcohol breathalyzer. I believe the science is not up to par for broad based use and it may never be adequate to just detect marijuana use within x number of hours. Ironing out a true impairment baseline for marijuana is too complex a problem for a little company like Cannabix to tackle on it's own. I question if there's truly a belief you can scientifically prove someone's impairment by means of a breath analysis you wouldn't have just a handful of small companies trying to make a go of it. I personally think the current technology is going nowhere fast and will require outside the box science to get to a real solution, if society really cares about driving under the influence of marijuana. As if society hasn't been high behind the wheel for decades. Only now that it is legal somehow it's an urgent problem? Where's the Mothers Against Marijuana Drivers outrage? The Mother's probably get together on 4/20 every year and smoke their troubles away. May God bless them all.Hurdles Abound.
