kingfisher if this is to me again all relative. It is expected for businesses to lose money in the first 3 to 10 years. Revenues is important especially when strengthening the balance sheet. There are people totally obsessed with profit but 98 percent of pennies and a good chunk of other companies never are yet trade stupidly high and that has to do with the strengthening of the balance sheet. The reason revenue is important is because if companies dont sell anything after 2 years of either listing or where they look promising they all get nailed. The same if they dont increase their revenue. Expectations go up especially when stock prices are so stupid they dont justify the revenue or lack thereof. Now companies can lose lots of monies and talking specifically to social media like Facebook I will leave Amazon for now where people would keep talking about views and not even paid subscriptions there were juniors and people would use these justification. There were several I forget their names some reached $3 a share but they did not have anything significant and imploded...all these media based stocks are driven by advertising dollars and if they dont get them or are indies that dont get bought out they all died. I lost badly on one and all using the paid social influencers model all gone under. So when you look at companies revenues is key in the end but yes companies can bleed and will do so until they continue to strengthen their balance sheet but that is why I am not that concerned about overall profitability and companies driving to get there. If that was the end all be all no companies will trade. Now you raise a point of millions in revenue you need to be mindful of outstanding shares to revenues. Now the company is claiming this is worth over a billion...I wont say no but I dont say yes until they show revenues moving towards it. Everything goes hand in hand. You have to look at things relative to is/are the companies getting stronger on their balance sheet? Is it sustaining the growth and relying less on equity financing? is the company evolving with product line in both depth and breadth...verticals and horizontal. Does this company seem to be in it longer term and back to evolving innovative and is it strong in wanting to grow the business not look to sell out at the first moment of decent growth? I dont respect companies that sell out when they can grow so much more before doing so because I ask just how much and how devoted are people there to build it. The Dragons on tv dont like it either because they question the same drive in those who pitch to them. Companies as I said should sell only when they know they can go no further with it...I'm not including hostile take overs but a free and amicable sell out. There are companies like Natcore who I mentioned made 0 revenue and collapsed this is why I talk about it but again everything is all relative. The key is even if companies are bleeding monies but are able to start making and inevitably become profitable that is what one can most definitely gamble on. Yes you buy early not late and it is likely companies are bleeding monies but that still doesnt mean I would pay stupid amounts for something like Telsa...sure Musk can raise tons of monies but the share value is ridiculous until it sees profit overall. With saying this I know it will be profitable and as I said people should respect Telsa for paving the way in the sector as with Rowling for getting people to read even so I will not pay crazy prices and look to buy cheap even if companies are heavy in red for the reason you said...but not all will succeed.
Without net earning a company is worthless to a common stock holder.

I agree... "Common" Stock Holders should stick to Banks and make their 5-7% annual gains.

Extraoridanary Stock Investors with Vision and Grit should Forsee what lays ahead for the Market. These investors are the ones who make 50000-70000% Annual Gains

Inflation will drive the Price of Cat Food Up Crazy Cat Lady not to mention Hats... Choose wisely lol

Earnings are either retained, paid out in dividends, or ploughed back into the company. Without earnings, a company is worthless. So technically stockholders are paying 164m for a worthless company.

Stockholders pay nothing ... Stockholders INVEST in the Future of a company or a Sector. If all Stockholders only invested in Companies with instant Revenue and Net Earnings. Well then we would have very little if any Innovative Tech Distruptive Start Ups. Not to mention all the Medical Break through Technology. Do you think the Cure for Cancer will come from a Company that had investors wait to invest until they had a steady Revenue Stream? I think not.

You should stick to eating Hats Crazy Cat Lady... Only thing you have been good at on this Board...

Cheers
