USA Cannabis This was a very big week for the U.S. cannabis sector, which has become significantly more appealing to investors. U.S. operators trade at a big valuation discount to their counterparts in Canada, though trying to figure out the right discount is a challenge. The success of investments in U.S. multi-state operators will come at the expense of Canadian operators. While some Canadians and some U.S. investors who have been in the Canadian LP sector may reallocate, the bigger driver will most likely be a broadening of the investor base. Finally seeing the creation of larger investment funds targeting the industry, making it easier for a bigger pool of investors to participate. There should be little doubt that USA federal legalization is forthcoming especially with Trump now on board.
Whatever the evaluation one assumes that USA mj stocks at the moment should be when compared to Canadian mj stocks it certainly should not be 100x the valuation. If it remains then a huge correction will be forthcoming when USA federally legalizes marijuana and this could be a lot sooner than some seem to think. Go LDS and GLTA
