RE:RE:validation You are so right Yama. Europe recycles over 40% of their ewaste. Asia right behind them. North and South America are less than 10%. We are only just ahead of Africa. It is actually a disgusting state of affairs when you think of it. Add to that a virtual tsunami of ewaste coming by 2030 as 99% of all electronics will be replaced and upgraded in the next decade. The intellectual capital spent now will reap the benefits in the near future.
Right now 90% of those products are being ripped out of the earth somewhere. The copper, tin, stainless steel (iron, nickel, chromium, and vanadium), palladium, the rare earths, silver and of course gold.
Just today on Twitter I saw someone railing about how unethical gold mining is. You should see the poor coral reefs that dared to grow on a tin deposit in Indonesia.
Of note I hope someone at ETI is working on stripping the nickel out of the stainless steel to answer Elon Musks call for ethical nickel. He said he would buy all we could produce.
