From the June 15 corporate update:

The results of of this six-month technical and economic assessment has confirmed both the commercial and technical viability, and the competitive economic and environmental advantages of the EnviroCircuit process as compared to the conventional smelting of printed circuit boards.

The continued facility optimization through the test period resulted in sustained processing rates of one tonne per hour which meets the original facility design production targets. recoveries are now consistently over 90% while chemical consumption and other process costs have been significantly reduced. These higher metal recoveries and reduced costs will ultimately result in greater operational margins.

This release " appeared" to state that the process was validated. So, is it about feedstock? Duane said in the DM latest interview that Jabil had no established supply chain for PCB's.  So is it feedstock and covid, or smoke and mirrors?

I'm ok with the feedstock,covid related issues explanation. Im of the opinion that north america is absolutely unaware of the value of ewaste. The biggest tell for me regarding this fact, is that Waste Management has no interest in collecting old electronics. They have an immediate supply chain answer for the problem of collecting it, but you cant give them your old DVRs, modems,power supplies ...more

You are so right Yama. Europe recycles over 40% of their ewaste. Asia right behind them. North and South America are less than 10%. We are only just ahead of Africa.  It is actually a disgusting state of affairs when you think of it. Add to that a virtual tsunami of ewaste coming by 2030 as 99% of all electronics will be replaced and upgraded in the next decade. The intellectual capital spent ...more
