He was referring to the live PGA golf tournament that was in Vegas and sposored by BetMGM., not eSports. eSports is streamed through Twitch and other online mediums and also broadcasted on some network channels and specialty cable channels. eSports events will have delays much like any other broadcast depending on the platform you are viewing them through.
To your point, I was watching Canada vs USA world hockey junior finals and was texting with a freind who lives in Western Canada during the gAME. He was watching the game on Shaw Cable and I was on Bell TV. His telecast was 2 minutes behind my feed as I was "predicting" what would happen in the game before he saw it! LOL.
