Applying the real science of geochemistry, geophysics and remote Sensing, as well as getting boots on the ground prospecting, geo mapping lithologies and structures are what finds deposits..... NOT some computer that says drill here! That's geology for dummies kind of stuff.
Geology is messy and totally unpredictable. Algorythms fall apart in this scenario because predictive models are not random like nature so often is.... HELLO?
A good geo worth his salt already has filtered every piece of data available to him from government data bases, commisioned studies and all relevant exploration in the region of the potential exploration before considering the next plan of action whether that be soil sampling, prospecting with XRF, more geophysics, mapping... ect.
