Just take household service debt, we are now at $ 1.82 to $ 1.00 of disposable income. This debt dome is going to explode. Households hav been living large and with financial institutions willing to dish out money like Justin did during the C19 ramp up. Not only is the Canadian economy heading into the tank but so is the Global financial systems. We have 4-6 months of UGLY ahead of us to fight through.

Yup for sure it all adds to the pressure we see happening. This is what happened in the late 70's early 80's intrest rates started to climb slowly at first then exploded to 1% or more every time they raised it. It was after the third 1% increase was when you seen house prices start to drop quickly. Every 1% increase in interest rates it takes out 10% of woodbe home buyers out of the market ...more
