But I am actually fairly happy with this announcement because I didn't actually expect NL to be able to monetize their IP directly like this. This is a completely unique revenue stream that other extractors don't have because they don't own patents (only having trade secrets). If you think about it, NL could potentially have licensing rights to their IP processes to: equipment manufacturers, growers wanting to keep their processing in house, other processing companies, etc.
Also, I am encouraged because this is IP related to equipment - which usually is much stronger and easier defend based on other industry's history.
I assume the other company is private and that is why they didn't release their name. The 3M seems like the best case scenario based on sales - but other extraction equipment sales companies have had explosive growth (based on my research because I was looking at investing in a few of them - however the best ones were all private).
