Holds options from BHP Billiton Limited to earn 70% interest in each of Antash copper prospect, 25 km west of Huarez, and Bambas Este copper prospect, 15 km east of Bambas district, both Peru, requiring exploration expenditures of US$1,500,000 and US$3,000,000, respectively. BHP Billiton retains a 40% back-in right in each property. The Cello Casa silver-gold prospect in Ayacucho in southern Peru and Yamana gold prospect, Antabamba district, near Los Chancas, Peru, were written off during fiscal 2005.
In August 2004, the company executed an agreement with a unit of Rio Tinto plc and Shougang Hierro Peru S.A.A. to acquire the Marcona copper project, 32,899 hectares, Nazca province, 400 km southeast of Lima, Peru. Total consideration was US$33,500,000 to US$43,500,000, consisting of US$20,500,000 on closing and a further US$13,000,000 on the second anniversary, plus up to US$10,000,000 if a decision to mine is made and the mineral resource exceeds certain prescribed amounts. Inferred mineral resources at the Marcona property have been estimated at 218,300,000 tonnes grading 0.80% copper per tonne. Korea Resources Corporation and LG-Nikko Copper Inc., a Korean-Japanese joint venture, subsequently purchased a jointly 30% equity in Marcona and LG-Nikko has agreed to purchase 90% of Marcona cathode production and 70% of concentrate production.
Continuance into British Columbia has been proposed.

Chariot Resources Ltd. sold 33% stake in a newly acquired Marcona copper mine in Peru to Korea Resources Corp. and LG-Nikko Copper Inc. Under the terms Chariot received about $38.5 million for a 33% stake in the mine. Chariot acquired the mine from Rio Tinto Plc., Sucursal del Peru and Shougang Hierro Peru SAA for US$33.5 million in Sept. '04. Mine is estimated to contain about 218.3 million tons of copper bearing ore.
