TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Oct 13, 2015) - Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:SNA)(SNAVF) ("Star" or the "Company"), is pleased to advise that on 4-8 October 2015, the worldwide air traffic management ("ATM") industry gathered in Dubai, UAE for the ATC Global Exhibition & Conference, with attendees from 115 countries, including Director General's of Civil Aviation from each continent and key industry influencers.
The yearly international event addressed current and future air traffic control challenges and developments, including the need for real-time tracking. It allowed for a unique networking opportunity for air navigation service providers, airports, aircraft operators, regulators and ATM suppliers.
Star's Chinese partner, Chengdu Spaceon Technology Co., Ltd., ("Spaceon") exhibited and promoted the STAR-TTT, a joint product developed by Star and Spaceon, at the Chinese CETC pavilion. STAR-TTT, which includes on-board equipment and an airborne satellite communication terminal, will provide, at low cost:
Voice communication (Talk),
Data transfer (Text) and
Tracking (Track) capabilities.
It complies today with expected ICAO, IATA and ITU recommendations for real time tracking of aircraft in the future.
The STAR-TTT on-board unit has been developed, and is in the process of being certified in Canada in cooperation with Spaceon in China and will address the worldwide market. Full certification is expected by year end.
In this joint product, Star is responsible for the flight data analysis software, while Spaceon is responsible for designing hardware, part of the software development and adaption to local requirements in China.
